Carnivore Burger

This carnivore burger (+ Keto) is completely customizable and has a zero carb bun and everything. Ain't no carbs on this plate! Since we chose to use a blend of ground bison with liver & heart, the burger patty itself is loaded with nutrients and a great source of both fat and protein.


Since the start of May, we have transitioned to following the Carnivore diet. We've written a few Instagram posts about WHY, but so far, we've been loving it!

Ingredients

  • Chicken round buns (recipe here) --> chicken, eggs, baking soda, ACV

  • Ground meat (we used ground bison blend with liver & heart from North Star Bison)

  • Sea Salt

  • Egg

  • Bacon

  • Tallow


Instructions

  1. Make the chicken round buns

  2. Form burger patty with ground meat & sea salt (optional other seasonings)

  3. Cook bacon on a cast iron skillet

  4. Save bacon fat on pan, cook burger patty(s) in bacon fat

  5. On a separate pan, cook over easy egg (we always cook ours in tallow)

  6. Melt tallow in microwave and top 1 side of 2 chicken rounds with melted tallow. This is MAJOR KEY! It'll add extra crunch to the sandwich when it solidifies as a crispy shell

  7. Layer 1 chicken round with burger, bacon, over easy egg, and top with second chicken round!

  8. Optionally add cheese, but we typically eat dairy free so no cheese on these particular burgers.
